Katie Van Patter || moksha
The Moksha pillar that resonates most deeply with Katie is Live to Learn. In addition to teaching at Moksha, she’s also a mental health nurse, and in both fields, she says, she welcomes the opportunity to hear and see other perspectives and points of view, and let them inform her own. She’s relatively new to teaching yoga, though she’s been practicing on and off since she was a teenager. Though she hated her first Moksha class—it was so busy, so hot—she couldn’t deny how amazing she felt afterward, as if she were floating. That feeling kept her coming back, and it’s what she hopes her students leave with, too. She describes yoga as a steady heartbeat to which she always returns, and she steadfastly believes there is something in yoga for everybody.
